Waratah Village Shopping Centre
Project Details
Description of Works | Major refurbishment to shopping centre |
Client | Nekon Pty Ltd |
Type of Contract | Fixed Lump Sum |
Project Overview
Nekon Pty Ltd as owner of the Waratah Shopping Village made a substantial investment in the refurbishment of the centre. They were committed to rejuvenate the shopping precinct and create a sophisticated retail experience that would carry the shopping centre onto 2020 and beyond.
The works involved the creation of a new food court with an extensive overhead louvered canopy, the installation of new full height frameless glass shop fronts, 1500 square metres of architectural paving and new centre amenities. We used innowood and prodema panelling and composite panelling as decorative linings.
The new structures were constructed over an old land fill site which involved specialist and extensive geotechnical investigations and a specialised footing design.
These substantial refurbishments were delivered whilst the centre continued to trade without disruption. Bermagui Constructions co-ordination techniques and ridged planning ensured safe access for pedestrians as the works progressed. Wherever possible we undertook the works outside of business operating hours.
