Project Details
The Base Gymnasium (Building 24) at RAAF Base Richmond is a heritage building rated as having a highly significant historical and cultural value. This building was originally the base theatre and dance hall and is now used as the base gymnasium. This facility has become one of the most heavily used buildings on base due to the mandatory fitness training and testing in preparation of the troops.
Bermagui Constructions were appointed to design and construct a modern training and fitness testing facility within the heritage significant building. The works included the installation of a 500kw air conditioning system new Kingspan roof system, state of the art sports training and testing equipment, sports flooring and fire services upgrade.
