Project Details
Parramatta Square, previously known as Civic Place, is planned across three-hectares of Council-owned space and real estate in the Parramatta CBD, bounded by Church, Macquarie, Smith and Darcy Streets. Parramatta Square contains 6 stages of development and will see Parramatta emerge as a vibrant, connected and liveable city in the heart of Sydney.
The redevelopment of One Parramatta Square involved the demolition of Macquarie House an existing seven storey building at 169 Macquarie St Parramatta and removal of the Parramatta City Council Civic Place car park. The works included new Sydney Water and Endeavour Energy infrastructure augmentation and diversion and also comprehensive Archaeological survey and investigation for both Aboriginal and European artefacts.
Bermagui Constructions engaged an Archaeologist to document any discoveries so the land could be cleared efficiently. Macquarie House will be replaced by a 15 storey commercial building comprising approximately 26,000m2 of commercial net floor area and retail floor space to be tenanted by the University of Western Sydney
