Project Details
As part of the Department of Defence initiative to hand back the Moorebank Precinct to the NSW State Government as part of the new intermodal project and the consolidation of defence facilities back into the Holsworthy Barrack, Bermagui Constructions where engaged to demolish 55 existing buildings including accommodation mess hall, recreational technical and commercial buildings.
The area was regraded and remediating to provide a safe and uncontaminated green landscaped area. Bermagui placed a major emphasis on the reuse and recycle elements of the works, achieving a high degree of material from the site being recycled.
Bermagui managed the safe removal of more than 780 tonnes of Asbestos Containing Materials (ACM’s) that were removed and correctly disposed of to the highest industry standards off site. The works were completed on time and within budget and have provided the Defence Forces with a clean, safe and maintenance free site.
