Project Overview
Operating within the very busy retail precinct of Dee Why, Bermagui Constructions completed substantial remedial repairs to the failing building elements of Dee Why Village Plaza, securing the structural integrity and improving the aesthetic quality of the building whilst ensuring minimal disruption to the ongoing function of the shopping centre.
Dee Why Village Plaza is situated in a highly corrosive environment due to its proximity to the ocean. The building owner asked Bermagui Constructions to undertake a review of the structural deterioration due to corrosion and carry out the necessary remedial repairs.
The scope of works included the removal and replacement of the parapet walls, and substantial refurbishment of the structural steel framing and roof elements. Critically, these works were required to be undertaken whilst the shopping centre continued to trade requiring Bermagui to incorporate major temporary works to ensure the patrons and tenants weren’t affected.
