Eden College, Koch Centre for Youth, Macquarie Fields
|Location||Macquarie Fields, Sydney, NSW|
|Client||Youth off the Streets|
|Type of Contract||Construction Management|
Youth of the Streets was established by Fr. Chris Riley in 1991 offering assistance to young people aged between 12 to 21 years of age who are facing challenges of homelessness, exclusion from school, neglect and abuse. YOTS provides a range of services to support these young people as they seek to turn their lives around.
Youth off the Streets first started working with the people of Macquarie Fields in the wake of the public disturbances in 2005 & 2010. With community and corporate support, Campbelltown City Council granted approval to commence construction of this youth centre for the community of Macquarie Fields.
Bermagui Constructions was contracted for a scope of works which included;
- Construction of a full time school for 40 children.
- An Outreach Centre which caters for over 200 youth visiting each afternoon.
The finished works included; a commercial kitchen, a gymnasium hall, indoor and outdoor multipurpose courts, trampolines and a recording studio.
